Policies and Procedures

Payment of Fees: Tuition can be paid by automatic debit or automatic credit card payment. We can also accept a series of post-dated checks for the month of lessons due at least two weeks prior to the following month’s lessons. Tuition would be debited from your debit/credit card account on the 1 st day of each month.

NSF (non-sufficient funds) payments: I hereby authorize World of Music to electronically debit my bank account for the amount of any NSF paper check or auto debit transaction plus $20 NSF fee.

Withdrawals and Refunds: There is a one month minimum for all lessons. Two weeks notice from the first of the month is required to discontinue any classes and to obtain a refund. Withdrawal must be done in person at the front counter, not with the teacher. All automatic bank/credit card debiting will stop after the 2 week notice period. World of Music reserves the right to terminate lessons to any student without notice. In such a case a refund for unused lessons will be given.

Extreme weather or unexpected interruption of classes: If the school must cancel classes due to extreme weather or events such as teacher/store cancellations, the missed lessons will be credited toward the following month’s lessons.

Substitutions: The school reserves the right to provide a substitute teacher if the regularly scheduled teacher is ill or otherwise unable to teach. If the teacher is ill and the school cannot arrange a substitute any missed classes will be made up.

Missed lessons and make-up lessons: Make-up lessons will be limited to 1 per quarter (every 3 months)

in the same quarter that the lesson was missed. No refunds will be given for missed lessons that are not made up.

Lateness: If a student comes late to a lesson, the lesson will be the remainder of the half hour left.

Parents Responsibility to Be Aware of Dates and Events: It is the responsibility of the parent or adult student to be aware of all school activities, such as recitals, make-up lessons, and school closings.

They are posted on the bulletin board as well as sending notices home with the students. It is the responsibility of the parents or adult students to inform the school of any address/phone number changes.

Care of Students: The school is not responsible for providing before or after class care for students. Parents with students under the age of 8 are to remain in the school during classes. Students are not to be left at the school for excessive time before or after class without a parent.
